When Rory Gallagher finished his Medical Science degree at the University of New South Wales, he wasn’t sure where he wanted to start his career, but what he did know with a passion was that he wanted a career where he could make a positive impact on the lives of as many patients as possible.
“Amgen stood out to me as a company at the forefront of science, and one that is constantly seeking new avenues for progress,” said Rory. “I wanted to work somewhere with an unwavering focus on meaningful patient outcomes that are achieved by keeping the patient at the heart of everything we do.”
“While the past accomplishments and current impact Amgen was making for patients around the world at that time was impressive, it was the future that really excited me,” he added.
Rory’s passion for patients has driven him to successfully progress his career at Amgen through sales and marketing roles with increasing responsibility, where he has worked within a high achieving award-winning team on numerous accomplishments to help improve the lives of Australians with osteoporosis. Rory brings an energy and enthusiasm that was evident in his roles where he directly engaged with customers and now drives his strategic thinking towards developing solutions that can ultimately improve patient outcomes. Rory is now making his mark as the brand lead for Amgen’s oncology and haematology products, and with Amgen’s strong commitment to career development, the opportunities abound for Rory’s star to continue to rise.
